Firefox 97 がリリースされた
Mozilla は米国時間 2022 年 2 月 8 日、安定性及びセキュリティ問題の修正を含む Firefox のメジャーアップデート版である Firefox 97.0 をリリースした。延長サポート版である Firefox ESR 91.6.0 もリリースされている。
Firefox 97.0 での新機能や改良点、セキュリティ修正、既知の問題は次のとおり。
新機能及び改良点
- 新機能
- Windows: Windows 11 の新しいスタイルのスクロールバーをサポート
- 修正
- macOS: システムフォントの読み込みの改善により、新しいタブを開く、切り替えることを高速化
- 変更
- 2 月 8 日をもって、バージョン 94 で導入された期間限定の colorway テーマが利用できなくなる。2/8 時点でアドオンマネージャー上で「有効化」されている colorway テーマについては、それ以降も利用可能である。colorway テーマの詳細は こちらのサポート記事 を参照されたい

- Linux: 印刷のための PostScript の直接生成のサポートを終了。PostScript プリンターへの印刷機能のサポートはオプションとして継続される

アップデート及びシステム要件
Firefox 97.0 は Windows, Mac そして Linux 版が用意され、Mozilla ウェブサイトよりダウンロード可能となっている。また、80 以上の言語に対応した各国語版は 次世代ブラウザ Firefox – 各国語版のダウンロード よりダウンロード可能となっている。また、既存の Firefox 4 以降のユーザには自動アップデート経由で通知されるが、Firefox メニューの “Firefox について” より手動でアップデートすることも可能だ。
